Privacy Policy

Meerkly lets your devices help out: the app fetches public web pages for the Meerkly network while you are not using your device, and your account earns credits for the work. This policy explains what information we handle to make that work, and what we deliberately stay away from. It covers the Meerkly apps (desktop, Android, and headless workers), meerkly.com, and dashboard.meerkly.com.

What we collect

Your account

When you create a Meerkly account we store your email address and a password (stored hashed, never in plain text). If you sign in with a third party (Google, Facebook, or X) we receive a provider account identifier and, where available, your email — never your provider password. That is all we need — we do not ask for your name, phone number, or address. If payouts are enabled in the future, payment details will be handled by a third-party payment processor; we will not store full financial account numbers.

Your devices

Each Meerkly install generates a random device ID and links it to your account. The ID is a random identifier created by the app — it is never derived from hardware serial numbers, advertising IDs, or anything else that could identify your device outside Meerkly. Alongside it we keep basic device details (platform, operating system, architecture, model, browser engine version, and app version) so you can tell your devices apart and so we can operate the network sensibly. We also record when your devices connect and whether they are online or idle, so your dashboard shows accurate status.

Work your device does

When your device serves the network, our servers record the essentials of each job: which device did it, the fetched URL, the response status, and timing. We use this to credit your earnings, keep the network fair, and prevent abuse. Our servers also see your device's IP address — like every server you connect to — and derive a country-level region from it so jobs can be routed sensibly. We do not build location profiles beyond that.

On your device only

The apps keep local activity logs (requested URL, final URL, page title, timing, success or failure) to help you and us debug problems. These stay on your device. They reach us only if you explicitly export a diagnostics bundle and send it to us. Logs never include full page content or your credentials.

What we never touch

How the fetched pages flow

Pages your device fetches are public web pages requested by Meerkly customers. The page content passes from your device through our servers to the customer who requested it. It is not stored as part of your profile and it is not information about you.

Sharing

We share data only as needed to run the service: with the infrastructure providers that host Meerkly (servers, storage), the identity providers you choose to sign in with, and — if payouts are enabled — payment processors acting on our instructions. We may disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. There are no other recipients, and we do not sell personal information.

Security

Connections between your devices and Meerkly use TLS. On our servers, credentials and device tokens are stored hashed. On your devices, credentials are stored using your operating system's secure storage where available (for example Keychain on macOS or the Android Keystore). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we use industry-standard safeguards throughout.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and earnings records while your account exists. Uninstalling the app removes its local data, including logs and its browser profile. You can delete your account and all its data at any time from your account settings at dashboard.meerkly.com; we delete your personal data and linked device records, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations. You can also email us at [email protected] and we will handle it for you.

Your rights and choices

You can view and update your email or password anytime from your account settings, and delete your account there too — see above. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or export your data; email [email protected] to exercise them.

Cookies

Our websites use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and secure the service — never for advertising.

Age

Meerkly is intended for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be announced to signed-in users, and continued use of Meerkly after an update means you accept the revised policy.
